Native Lights Casino Open After Delays

Native Lights Casino officials finally overcame the delays which plagued their opening and opened their doors for business at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 6. Early reports show a steady stream of casino gamblers which does not appear to be diminishing.

Several attempts had been made before the Native Lights Casino finally opened. Now the casino south of Arkansas City in Oklahoma is gearing for a business boom.

"We were packed last night," said consultant Jarrett Lessert of Wichita. The casino aptly has a "now open' sign posted at the entrance.

Native Lights Casino management had hoped to open the week before that, and had even gone to the length of having radio stations announce the opening. However, they met with a last minute hitch with federal Native American authorities, and were not able to open at that time as planned.

Casino officials brand the Native Lights Casino experience as a "Vegas atmosphere that will give the consumer a true experience of gaming entertainment."

The casino offers 'live' poker and blackjack tables as well as video poker and slot machines. A small dining establishment provides food and refreshments.

Native Lights Casino also has a stage and dance floor, a venue where casino officials plan to offer live entertainment in the future.
